Garden History The story of the building, which houses RESTAURANT, began in 1922 when General Mustakov built it. Distinguished military expert and tactician during the Balkan War, he was an officer in the headquarters of Cavalry division. During First World War was Chief of Staff of the 9th infantry Pleven division that participated in the famous Battle of Dojran. Later General Mustakov became a Head of Cabinet of the Minister of War Alexander Stamboliiski and Head of the Gendarmerie. He is also a founding member of the Mason Lodge in Bulgaria and craftsmen of the lodge "Svetlina". In the early 50s of last century, communist authorities in Bulgaria staged espionage case against him. General Mustakov, then 82 years old, was sentenced to 20 years in prison! He spent there seven years. General Mustakov lived to 101 years. At the beginning of the 40s of the twentieth century, the house of the family Moustakov opened one of the first ballet schools in Bulgaria, educated generations of ballet dancers. The daughter of General Mustakov is famous Bulgarian ballerina and teacher-Feo Mustakova Genadieva. She studied ballet in Paris, at the famous Russian school teacher from the beginning of XX century. Olga Preobrajenska. Feo danced in "Moulin Rouge", "Lido", "Folies Berg?re" and many other famous scenes. Mrs. Mustakova was a ballerina for more than 60-year and through her artistic career has worked with Fernando, Josephine Baker and Mistinget. She is the founder of the ballet of Music Theatre in Sofia. After the fall of the Berlin Wall and after social and political changes in Bulgaria, the home of the family has become Moustakov Restaurant. The house has been restored carefully and accurately. Now the building from the beginning of the twentieth century which has a nearly 100-year history is housed the garden restaurant "BULGARIA". This is a place that remembers and keeps pan-forward idea.
