Hello, my name is Lyubomir Linkov. I have been working with wrought iron for more than 15 years, and since the end of 2008 I have been a member of the National Crafts Chamber – Sofia, holding a “Master Certificate” for the creation of wrought iron products.

I specialize in handcrafted boutique items such as:

  • wrought iron beds, wrought iron mirrors
  • handmade wrought iron candle holders
  • wrought iron tables, wrought iron chairs
  • wrought iron chandeliers, wrought iron candle stands
  • home accessories from wrought iron, wrought iron napkin holders
  • art pieces from wrought iron, wrought iron metal sculptures
  • wrought iron gates, wrought iron fireplace tools

In my work I combine both traditional and modern techniques of wrought iron craftsmanship.

Every item made of wrought iron is unique, as no second identical piece is ever created.

This means that every owner of our wrought iron products can be certain they possess something unique, handcrafted in Bulgaria specifically for the client.

We create wrought iron products based on your project, sketch, photo, drawing, or our own design, striving for every element to be perfectly crafted so that the final product has a complete and refined appearance — because we follow the principle that beauty lies in the details!

Atelier for Wrought Iron Products

Atelier – Linkov Forge is one of the few remaining authentic forges in Bulgaria, and specifically in Sofia they can be counted on the fingers of one hand. Here everything is crafted the way it was done many years ago — by hand — using only a hammer, anvil, and forge fire, allowing the blacksmith to connect with the iron and breathe life into it.

The process of creating wrought iron using the classical method, compared to products made from prefabricated elements, is much more labor‑intensive and time‑consuming, because every element is hand‑forged to the required shape and size.

Every project has its own specifics such as style, dimensions, and proportions, which cannot be accounted for in mass production.

In Bulgaria, most companies offering wrought iron do not have a blacksmith and use ready‑made (machine‑produced, mass‑manufactured) Turkish or Romanian elements that only resemble wrought iron.

In this regard, I can say that there are no cheap and high‑quality products.

  • Every price reduction comes at the expense of quality.
  • We do not produce identical items on a conveyor.
  • Every product we create from wrought iron is unique and one‑of‑a‑kind in Bulgaria.

About “Linkov Forge” Atelier – tradition, craftsmanship and uniqueness

Linkov Forge is one of the last true ateliers for handcrafted wrought iron in Bulgaria. Here the work process is not just a craft – it is art, philosophy and dedication to detail. Every piece that leaves the forge carries the spirit of the old masters and is made the way it was done centuries ago – by hand, with hammer, anvil and fire.

In the modern world, where machine production dominates, handcrafted wrought iron is a symbol of prestige, style and individuality. Clients who choose Linkov Forge know that they are getting not just a product, but a unique piece – an item that has no second copy and is created especially for them.

The philosophy of hand forging

Hand‑forged wrought iron is more than metal. It is a material that passes through fire, hammer blows, shaping and precision until it reaches its final form. The master blacksmith puts a part of himself into every piece – energy, emotion, inspiration. This philosophy stands at the core of Linkov Forge and is the reason why clients feel the difference from the very first touch.

The beauty of hand forging lies in the detail – in the small curves, in the texture of the metal, in the traces of the hammer that tell a story. This is an art that cannot be imitated by machines.

Manufacturing process – step by step

The creation of hand‑forged wrought iron is a complex, multi‑stage process that requires years of experience and mastery. At Linkov Forge every project goes through the following stages:

  • Consultation with the client – discussing the idea, style, dimensions, purpose and budget.
  • Sketch or design – preparing a drawing or visual concept.
  • Material preparation – choosing the right metal, cutting and preparation.
  • Heating in the forge – the metal is heated to red‑hot to become plastic.
  • Hand forging – shaping with a hammer on the anvil, detail by detail.
  • Assembly – joining the individual elements.
  • Finishing – grinding, cleaning, smoothing.
  • Coating – anti‑corrosion protection, patina, painting.
  • Installation – for items such as gates, railings and structures.

Each stage is done by hand and requires attention, which makes the pieces unique and long‑lasting.

Materials and techniques

Linkov Forge uses only high‑quality materials that ensure strength and long life of the products. The main techniques include:

  • Classic hand forging
  • Heat treatment
  • Patination and antique effects
  • Hand‑forged ornaments
  • Traditional decorative motifs

Styles and design directions

Linkov Forge works in various styles, according to the client’s preferences:

  • Classic style
  • Baroque
  • Rustic
  • Modern minimalism
  • Industrial style
  • Art and author’s style

Boutique wrought iron pieces

Boutique pieces are a specialty of the atelier. They include:

  • Wrought iron beds
  • Mirrors and frames
  • Tables and chairs
  • Chandeliers and lighting fixtures
  • Art sculptures and decorative elements
  • Fireplace accessories
  • Gates, railings and fences

What makes hand‑forged different from machine‑made wrought iron?

The difference is huge. Machine production uses ready‑made elements that are assembled in a factory. Hand forging is a fully individual process where every detail is shaped by hand. This leads to:

  • Higher strength
  • Better aesthetics
  • Uniqueness of every piece
  • Longer lifespan
  • Real value and prestige

Quality and guarantees

Linkov Forge provides a guarantee for all products. Only quality materials and protective coatings are used, which protect the metal from corrosion and weather conditions.

Installation and maintenance

For items such as railings, gates and structures, professional installation is offered. Maintenance is minimal – periodic cleaning and refreshing of the coating when needed.
