The content of the paper gives answers to the ordinary problems in our lives: what happens in the city we live in, where we should go shopping /novelties, market trends, promotions/, how we should distinguish the good from the bad products, how we can need in order to look good and be healthy, where and at what price we can have fun. - Every Friday “CityMarket” is with its readers at the big chains of stores /more than 82 biggest commercial objects, covering the territory of the capital/, including the traditional expositions. Bulgarian Regional Media Association Establishment: The Bulgarian Regional Media Association (BRMA) was established on 15th of March 2002 in Sofia, Bulgaria. Organization structure: Managing bodies of BRMA are the General Meeting and the Executive Committee with Mr. Galentin Vlahov as Chairman and Mrs. Vesela Vatzeva as Executive Director. BRMA’s members are 33 of the leading printed media in the country. Our mission: BRMA aims to unite the most prestigious regional newspapers in Bulgaria, i.e. the best-circulated newspapers in different regions of Bulgaria (with a total of over 110 000 copies per day). These are issues of long standing positions on the media market and with big contribution to the formation of the public opinion in the country. The establishment of BRMA was a logical and natural result of the need of a new and strong media structure. It is the intermediary between the regional press and the institutions, including organizations in Europe and throughout the world. The association protects the interests of its members, and the interests of their audience. One of its main goals is to create market and public mechanisms for making the regional press an equal participant on the media market and guarantee the freedom of speech in Bulgaria. Some of BRMA’s main objectives are to: - Encourage the activities and the development of the regional media throughout the country and present them to the governmental institutions. - Organize an information exchange system among the members of the association in connection with the public and political life of the country. - Provide an information, technical, technological and know-how exchange system with other media associations in the country and abroad. - Provide opportunities for and organize qualified training of journalists, of managers of advertising and distribution departments, and of heads of media. Our background: BRMA has won the following projects: 1. “Balkans without Borders” cross-border project, December 2002 - July 2003, funded by the Open Society Foundation, together with Turkey’s Southeast European Journalists Association. The aim of the project is to create a journalist network, which should help resolving real and potential conflicts between Bulgaria and Turkey in accord with the new status of the two countries provoked by the European integration process. 2. “Bulgarian Business: Development by Cooperation”, February 2003 - June 2003 funded by the Delegation of the European Commission to Bulgaria. The purpose of the project is to develop a communication strategy for promotion and growth of the private initiative as a decisive condition for the pre-accession process efficiency. 3. “Regional Media Journalists Seminars”, Project Duration– March 2004 – August 2004 - EC Delegation to Bulgaria. Beneficiary – subcontractor - Bulgarian Media Regional Association /BRMA/. The main goals of the project is further development of journalist knowledge and interpretation towards: European union values and enlargement process; help the admission to the EU pre-accession programs resources; Support the adherence to the EU norms and standards of production; Support the stabilization of the Bulgarian private business and its adaptation to the European market. Our Purposes: The members of the Bulgarian Regional Association are committed to ensure that the community of regional media in Bulgaria will go on having access to the most comprehensive contact data and information on the Balkans related to this kind of organizations.
