The history of the artisan family began more than 80 years ago, with the craft being passed down from father to son. Thanks to this tradition, the Bonovski family has achieved remarkable success and earned recognition beyond the borders of the country.
Years of hard work and love for the craft by master Stoyan Bonovski and his family have turned cooperage into not just a profession, but a true art that guarantees perfect quality of the products they create.
The company’s goal is to meet the needs of both domestic and international markets for high‑quality barrels and casks, essential for achieving maximum flavor characteristics of the beverages aging inside them.
The company specializes in producing oak barrels, casks and vats used for wine, special types of rakia, cognac and whiskey.

Bonovski Cooperage Workshop is a trusted business partner for its long‑term clients. It began operations back in 1992, initially in a small workshop, and later built a modern production facility meeting European standards and co‑financed under the SAPARD program.

The company’s main activity is focused on producing barrels and cooperage products, namely:

• oak barrels from 5 to 1000 liters
• wooden planters
• oak vats

All products are manufactured in accordance with the relevant quality requirements.

The excellent production conditions and adherence to high European quality standards ensure 100% market realization of the products both in Bulgaria and abroad.

The established reputation of the company over the years has contributed to the continuous increase of exports to Austria, Germany, Greece, Italy and Spain, as well as to winemakers within the country.

The material used in the production of barrels by ET “Boni – Ivanka Bonovska” is oak, type “Quercus”, known as “Blagun”, harvested from the most ecologically clean regions of the country.

The Balkan Mountains are a major source of Quercus oak. The oak harvested in our region is similar to French oak and, like it, is characterized by a higher tannin content compared to American oak.

– The technological process begins with selecting suitable material, personally chosen by the owner of the company, master cooper Stoyan Bonovski.

– Afterwards, the material is processed and must be naturally dried for a period of 18–36 months.

– After strictly following the above steps, the barrel production process begins.
