The Association of Private Detectives is a professional organization that represents the interests of detectives working in the private sector. We conduct private investigations in the field of civil law, perform classified checks, surveillance of individuals and locations, and provide court‑admissible evidence related to divorce cases, child custody and corporate investigations.
The Association of Private Detectives can provide training and certification for its members, as well as promote ethical conduct and standards of good practice in the profession. The organization may also act as a lobbying body working to improve legislation regulating the activities of private detectives.
A private detective is a professional who works in the private sector and deals with the investigation of crimes and legal violations. We can be hired by individuals or legal entities to perform various types of investigative services. We work for clients who require discretion, confidentiality and fast, professional resolution of personal and corporate issues.
To become a licensed private detective, a person must complete a specific training course and obtain a detective license from the relevant authorities of the detective association. The word “detective” originates from the Latin “Detectio” (revelation). A detective is a professional who uncovers crimes, finds clues and evidence to identify perpetrators and objects of criminal activity and other violations. The origins of private investigative work date back to the 19th century in England, Scotland and France, and thanks to Mr. Marinov, since 1990 in Bulgaria as well. In ancient times detectives were often mistaken for spies and informants — fortunately they were not burned at the stake like witches, likely due to their intuition and professionalism. The first investigative agency was founded in 1833 by Eugène François Vidocq, a French soldier and criminal with a noble heart. He created the first plaster cast of a shoe print. Many of his methods are still used by the French police today.
The services offered by the Association of Private Detectives are available internationally (EU, England, Russia and others), as well as throughout the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria. Depending on the location of your case or issue, we will establish contact with our partners and colleagues at the local level. Fast, high‑quality and confidential resolution of your cases is our main priority and your peace of mind.
