The company ELECTRODE FACTORY Ltd. is located in the town of Ihtiman, 4 Predgarova Street.

This is the site where the first Bulgarian electrode production plant began operating in 1967. The company is the successor of the experience and traditions of several generations who produced electrodes for manual metal arc welding and surfacing. The accumulated knowledge and expertise over more than 50 years from both engineering and production teams form the foundation of the high quality of our products. These are skills in technology and manufacturing developed through cooperation with scientific‑technical institutes, professional partnerships with other companies and, most importantly, our own research and development activities.

The production facility is equipped with modern lines for manufacturing coated electrodes, including sections for preparing steel cores, mixing and applying coatings, drying, geometric control and packaging. Every stage of the process is strictly monitored to ensure consistent quality and compliance with European and international standards.

Special attention is given to the control of incoming raw materials – steels, alloying additives, mineral components and binders. Through laboratory analyses and tests, we verify chemical composition, granulation and physical‑mechanical properties, which are essential for achieving stable arc performance, good weld formation and easy slag removal.

This is how the current product range of the factory has been successfully developed.
Our catalogue includes 41 electrode grades covering a wide range of applications – from general mechanical engineering and metal structures to specialized tasks in energy, chemical industry and shipbuilding.

We currently produce electrodes in the following sizes: Ø2.5×300; Ø2.5×350; Ø3.2×350; Ø3.2×450; Ø4.0×350; Ø4.0×450; Ø5.0×450. This dimensional range allows flexible selection depending on material thickness, welding position and strength requirements.

Our production is certified by TÜV Rheinland (cert. 1853‑CPR‑031), in accordance with Regulation 305/2011/EC. This guarantees compliance with strict EU requirements for safety, reliability and traceability of construction materials.

The basic electrode “HARD” is certified for shipbuilding applications as group 4YH5 by the Norwegian and German ship registers (DNV GL, cert. No. TAW00003RS). This confirms the high quality and suitability of the product for critical structures exposed to dynamic loads, corrosion and demanding operational conditions.

“Electrode Factory” Ltd. is the only manufacturer of coated welding and surfacing electrodes in Bulgaria. This positions us uniquely to supply the local market with products tailored to the needs of Bulgarian industry, while offering competitive conditions, short delivery times and technical support in Bulgarian.

Our product range includes the following main groups:

– cellulose electrodes – suitable for pipeline and vertical welding, with deep penetration and stable arc;
– rutile electrodes – for universal applications, easy arc ignition and re‑ignition, smooth weld bead and easy slag removal;
– basic electrodes – for high‑strength joints, low hydrogen content and increased crack resistance;
– electrodes for stainless steels – for food, chemical, pharmaceutical and other industries requiring corrosion resistance;
– surfacing electrodes – for restoring and increasing wear resistance of working surfaces, tools and components;
– electrodes for cold welding and surfacing of cast iron – for repairing cast housings, blocks, parts and castings.
