Engineering "Knowledge is power" has perhaps never been more relevant than in today's global, complex technical environment. It is no surprise that knowledge management is critical. SKF has been working with all types of industrial sectors worldwide for nearly 100 years.

SKF has maintained its global leadership in the bearing industry largely because it invests in research and development, in the implementation of new technological discoveries and specific applied solutions demanded by the market. This commitment to research and development has helped over the years in the evolution of bearing life and lubrication theory.

The latest bearing life theories (now an ISO standard) were developed by SKF in an effort to enable equipment manufacturers and end-users to more accurately predict service life taking into account operating parameters such as endurance limits, as well as lubrication, contamination, and viscosity. Many times these discoveries require large investments in equipment.

The commitment of SKF to implementing them is to guarantee that the market can realize the advantages of these developments. This experience, knowledge, and responsibility to industry can help our customers become more efficient, effective, competitive, and ultimately more profitable.
