Palliative care and patient approach
Palliative care at hospice Michel Pare focuses on relieving pain, discomfort and suffering — both physical and emotional. Our team works closely with medical specialists to ensure proper medication, symptom control and maximum comfort during the stay.
The approach to each patient is individual – their wishes, habits, religious and personal beliefs are taken into account. We strive to build trust and calmness so that the patient feels respected and accepted. Psychological support is also provided when needed, both for the patient and their family.
Admission conditions
Patients are admitted after an initial conversation and assessment of their condition. Medical documents, epicrises, information about ongoing therapy and contact with the attending physician are usually required. Our team assists with the preparation of all necessary documents and provides detailed information about the stay.
Accommodation can be short‑term or long‑term – depending on the needs of the patient and the possibilities of the family. We offer flexible solutions that ensure peace and security for both the patient and their loved ones.
Rooms and environment
The rooms at hospice Michel Pare are bright, comfortable and adapted for people with limited mobility. Medical beds, assistive devices and sanitary facilities are provided, as well as the possibility for family members to stay if needed. Special attention is paid to hygiene, safety and patient comfort.
The common areas are organized to allow peaceful meetings with relatives, time for rest and social interaction. Activities may be arranged depending on the condition of the patients – reading, music, conversations and other light activities.
Team and professionalism
The team at hospice Michel Pare includes qualified nurses, caregivers, rehabilitators and palliative care specialists. All of them have experience working with severely ill patients and approach their work with attention, patience and empathy.
Regular internal training is conducted and current standards in palliative medicine are followed to ensure high‑quality services. For us, professionalism is important, but so is the human attitude – a smile, a kind word and support are part of our daily care.
Support for families
We understand that the decision to place a loved one in a hospice is difficult and emotional. That is why we take time to listen to families, answer their questions and help them make an informed decision. We provide information about the patient’s condition, the care being provided and the available support options.
Our goal is for families to feel confident that their loved one is in safe hands and to know that they are not alone during this challenging period.
