The company was established with the one and only owner and president Dr. Dimitrina Yonkova. The main aim of Maya-Dy is the preservation of the national traditions in the field of ethnology and developing innovative products from natural herbs and medical plants. The products of Maya-Dy have been exhibited on multiple occasions in different parts of the world - Berlin, London, Madrid, Paris, New York, Moscow, Budapes, Tel Aviv, Prague, Tokyo, Seoul and other places. Etereya Products Etereya is a food supplement made on the base of Bulgarian Essential Oils. Form: Gelatine pearls - boxes of 50 or 100 units. Basic Actions: Etereya is a new product, designed to restore and protect your health, a modern and yet traditional way of combating the tension and strains of everyday life. Etereya enhances the resistance of the immune system preventing development of infectious diseases and heightens the mental and body tone. Etereya helps suppress allergic responses. Etereya with its vitalising and hypoglycaemic action can also help those suffering from diabetes. Rose Products Rose Oil It is obtained from the blossoms of the Kazanlak oleaginous Rose. The fascinating fragrance of the Bulgarian Rose Oil can be found in many of he most refined perfumes. From a medical point of view, the Rose Oil is a basic component of “ayurveda”(ayur-life, veda-knowledge) treatment practiced by the Indian yogis. It has anti-inflammatory, spasmolitic, bile excreting and relaxing effects. Besides as a perfume, the Rose oil can be used for inhalations or for treating yourself to a nice aromatic bath. When dissolved in warm water, the miraculous liquid gives unique pleasure. Rose Water It is produced by water distillation from the petals of the Kazanlak oleaginous Rose. It has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergenic, antidepressant and relaxing effect. Could be used to treat skin problems. Rose water when drunk can help with stomach and liver troubles and hangovers-one table spoon in a glass of water twice daily. Rose water is used by some also as aphrodisiac. Rose Brandy “Gulovitsa” Gulovitsa is a strong alcoholic drink made from Roses, very famous among Bulgarians themselves as an early evening aperitif. Gulovitsa is offered in different sizes hand-painted bottles. Essential Oils Lavender Oil It is extracted from the blossoms of lavender, which is principally cultivated in the region of Kazanlak and Karlovo (central Bulgaria). Together with Rose Oil, it is one of the basic components of the yogis treatment “ayurveda”. Lavender has spasmolitic, analgesic and disinfectant properties. It is successfully used for the treatment of neurasthenia, heart neurosis and migraine headaches. Dissolve two drops in a cup of warm water and drink slowly. Applied directly to the skin, it helps relieve rheumatic and neuralgic pains. A bath with a few drops of lavender oil has a relaxing effect. Peppermint Oil It is obtained from the leaves and stalks of the peppery mint. This essential oil excites secretory functions in the stomach and intestine and stimulates appetite. Furthermore, it has analgesic, spasmolitic and anti-inflammatory effects and acts as a relaxant. The oil is applied externally for headache, migraine and skin inflammations and by inhalation for treating inflammation of the respiratory system. Hyssop Oil This essential oil is extracted from the medicinal Hyssop. Hyssop is mentioned even in the Bible which only proves that its medical properties have been known for centuries. It has expectorant and anti-inflammatory effect and it is taken for coughs, bronchitis, bronchial asthma and chronic inflammatory diseases of the stomach and the intestinal tract, as well as dyspepsia and constipation. Should be taken by dissolving 1-2 drops in a cup with warm water and sipping, 3-4 times a day. Externally, it is used for the irrigation of ulcers and wounds and for rinsing the mouth. Salvia Oil Obtained from sage, this essential oil has anti inflammatory , disinfectant and anti-expectorant effects. It has a soothing effect on sore throats, stomach aches, diarrhoea, and liver diseases. The essential oil is recommended for gargling and inhalation, as well as internally by dissolving 1-2 drops in 250ml boiled water. Externally, the water solution is used for treatment of septic wounds. Zdravetz Oil This essential oil is obtained from the leaves of the perennial Zdravetz. It helps reduce blood pressure and stimulates the heart. Zdravetz oil also has capillary strengthening, astringent, anti-inflammatory, sedative and gives moderate muscle relaxant effect. It is recommended for gastritis, colitis and diarrhoea by dissolving 1-2 drops in 200ml hot water and sipping it. Zdravetz oil is used externally to stop nose bleeding, and can be used to alleviate itching, fistulas, wounds and other skin inflammations. Wormwood Oil It is said to be a friend of the stomach. Avicena has it for stimulating the appetite and the school of Salerno has used it for preventing sea-sickness. It can effectively help with inflammation of the stomach, liver and bile disease anaemia. 1-2 drops can be dissolved in a cup with of worm water, before meal, two times a day. Rozober The small village of Osetenovo is located at 5 km east from Kalofer and 35 km west from Kazanlak. The number of people living here is around 1500 approxi-mately half of them are Christian and the other half Muslim. Here the 2 major mountain chains of Bulgaria Stara Planina from north and Sredna Gora from south are joining together to create the wonderful Valley of Roses. Among all these freshness, near to a small river, you will find a little Rose Garden! Each spring from 26th of May to 20th of June, in the early hours of the morning, every volunteer could drown himself in the lovely scented oil-giving roses. You could make yourself a rose crown or a rose necklace and keep the unforgettable experience for longer. You could witness the distillation process of the rose water and the rose oil prepared by using an ancient technology do not expect to see a brand new shiny equipment, but rather such one where time left its clear marks. You will be invited kindly to taste the tonic drinks from roses, which are not only aromatic, but also healthy! You will have the opportunity to buy from the producer the unique products of Maya-Dy hand painted bottles with rose water, rose brandy and others. Every year in the 1st weekend of June (this year 5st and 6st of June), in Kazanlak the Festival of Roses takes place.
