Home for Elderly People ARKADIA was founded in 2002. We can most responsibly state that for 15 years we have gained serious experience and have become a benchmark for the quality of the service we offer — namely an excellent material base and first‑class staff. For these reasons, we are an example for colleagues in the sector who draw from our experience. This, in turn, obliges us to maintain a very high level of service at every moment. The home is located in the village of Lozen, 15 km from “Orlov Most” – Sofia, situated at the foot of Lozen Mountain. The place is very sunny, with exceptionally clean air and beautiful nature.

First of all, we want to state that we are not an alternative to the well‑known state “Homes for Elderly People” or “Nursing Homes”, because we offer living conditions and individual care for each resident that have nothing in common with those in state institutions:

• continuous 24‑hour monitoring of the health condition of the residents;
• daily care for personal hygiene and the hygiene of all premises;
• four meals a day, tailored to the individual diet of each person, with healthy food prepared in our professional kitchen;
• we provide activities for everyone according to their needs in the four day rooms available in the home;
• possibility for walks at any time in the large landscaped yard, as well as rest in the outdoor gazebos. This applies also to people in wheelchairs, as the entrance is at ground level and access to the yard is easy;
• weekly music therapy and concerts by various musicians and performers.

A home for elderly people, a retirement home or a nursing home — however you call our home, it will not be entirely accurate, because not all residents are elderly.

“Services” is not the correct word for the care provided to the residents in our (their) home.

The care includes daily and individual assistance for each person, depending on their specific needs at any given moment.

Personal hygiene of the residents and the premises they occupy is a top priority — it is maintained at a very high level. Meals are at least four times a day and tailored to the age and specific condition of each resident. For those on a diet, food is prepared separately.

Of course, above all we take care of the residents’ health. The medical staff reacts competently and adequately to any change in the health condition of the residents. Blood pressure is monitored continuously, and medication is administered strictly on time according to the doctor’s prescription. Every week the home’s doctor performs a preventive examination of all residents and, if necessary, adjusts treatment or prescribes consultation with a specialist.

Every Sunday, without exception, a concert is performed by professional musicians on keyboard and string instruments. They perform classical works as well as old urban and popular Bulgarian songs.

Upon interest, we organize excursions to the numerous monasteries and beautiful places around Lozen, German and Pancharevo. We also organize festive celebrations for all birthdays and official holidays.
